Teaching of grammar and linguistics in secondary education

It is my understanding that an excellent researcher must also be committed to guaranteeing the positive impact of research on society. In this regard, I have also developed a research subline focused on the transferal of academic knowledge to society and, in particular, to secondary school teachers. This has led me to be an active member (for several yearsnow) in the initiative called Grammar Oriented towards Competences, whose aim is to reflect on and improve the praxis of teaching grammar in high school, basing on the scientific advances in the field of Linguistics. 

In this intensive work to improve the way grammar and language are taught, I have organised numerous scientific events with the aim of building bridges between academia and secondary school teachers.

Finally, I collaborate with prestigious Catalan publishing houses of instructional materials, such as Cruïlla – Grupo editorial SM and Enciclopèdia Catalana. In particular, these publishing companies have invited me to be author, reviewer and consultant of teaching materials for ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) and Batxillerat (A levels, Non-Compulsory Secondary Education), with the particular interest of transferring scientific knowledge in the area of Linguistics to teachers and educators and, consequently, to the generation that is being educated in our schools.
