  9. 20.6.2025: Congratulations to Dr Libera Pisano on her appointment as Assistant Professor of Modern Philosophy at UPF.   7. 18.10.2023: Doctoral researcher and Centre collaborator Chiara Caiazzo received an FPU predoctoral fellowship for 2023–2027 and a predoctoral fellowship from the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures for a research stay at Harvard University in 2024. Caiazzo’s thesis compares Rancière’s political aesthetics with Vattimo and other contemporary thinkers.

After the workshop, all participants visited the Archives.
  14. 31.05.2023: Publication of The Vattimo Dictionary by Edinburgh University Press, edited by Prof. Dr Simonetta Moro with contributions from fifty specialists in Vattimo’s philosophy.
  15. 3.03.2023: Dr Gregorio Tenti (University of Turin) received a Marie Curie postdoctoral fellowship for 2023–2024 to work on ecological hermeneutics at our Centre. Vattimo’s philosophy plays a central role in the project.

  2. 30.09.2022: The Humanities Research Center of Duke University and Kunshan University, in collaboration with the UPF Centre for Vattimo’s Philosophy and Archives, hosts the conference Weakening Strategies: Vattimo and Chinese Thought on 30 September at Pompeu Fabra University. Speakers from Italy, China and the United States will discuss the relationship between Vattimo’s weak thought and Chinese thought.

  4. 25.05.2018: Gianni Vattimo’s new book, Essere e dintorni, a 400-page volume, brings together some of his most significant reflections on contemporary philosophy, politics and aesthetics in order to interpret our relationship with Being in the twenty-first century. The work was published by La Nave di Teseo, one of Italy’s most prestigious publishing houses, founded by Umberto Eco and Elisabetta Sgarbi.
  5. 1.03.2018: Doctoral researcher Gabriel Serbu receives an Erasmus Plus mobility grant to research materials for his thesis on Rorty, Vattimo and Coetzee at the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg) during summer and autumn 2018.

  2. 12.06.2017: Doctoral researcher Leonardo Franceschini received an Erasmus Plus mobility grant to research materials for his thesis on the relationship between racism and Western philosophy, as well as the particular effects of European colonialism in China, at the East China University of Political Science and Law (Shanghai) during autumn and winter 2017–2018.
