Today, it looks like we’ve reached the end of the latest period of extreme drought we have suffered; but all the scenarios painted by the evolution of climate change in the Mediterranean basin point towards more frequent, more extreme episodes of drought.

Water is essential for life, for economic development and the balance of the ecosystems. In Catalonia, water management is a key challenge as its Mediterranean climate is characterized by irregular rainfall and recurrent periods of drought. This, together with the increase in water demand due to urban, agricultural and industrial activities, requires establishing a sustainable management model that can ensure the availability and the quality of water in the long term.
This exhibition is an introduction to key factors concerning water management, with special emphasis on the need to re-municipalize and democratize it by means of 11 panels displaying essential ideas and infographics that will help us see this controversial issue more clearly.
The exhibition is on display from 28 April to 7 May in the corridor of the cafeteria on the Poblenou campus, and from 7 to 17 May in Roger de Llúria courtyard.
We hope you will find it interesting!
