The 2022 call for projects of solidarity commitment and sustainable development, promoted by UPF Solidària, has been resolved with the highest participation registered so far: there have been thirty-five projects submitted (seven more than in the last edition) of which twenty-one have been selected, subsidized with a total of 50,000 euros (this year has increased the endowment with 10,000 euros more).

All groups that are part of the university community have participated in the call, and the 35 projects submitted have been distributed as follows: nine by students (one of whom is a student of the UPF Senior program), seven teaching and research staff (PDI), five administrative and service staff (PAS), one retired PAS and thirteen UPF alumni.

The twenty-one projects selected, nine of which will be carried out by entities that present themselves for the first time, will receive grants ranging between 1,500 and 4,900 euros, focus their action mainly in Africa, in eleven cases (three in Senegal, two in Mozambique, two in Gambia, two in Burkina Faso, and one in Madagascar and Mali); three projects will take place in Asia (Philippines, Afghanistan and Lebanon), two in Latin America (Brazil and Bolivia) and five in Barcelona and the metropolitan area.

The evaluation committee, responsible for choosing the recipients of the grants, was chaired by the Vice Rector for Social Commitment and Sustainability Ester Oliveras, and was made up of representatives of the Social Responsibility area of the UPF, of the different groups of the University, a member of the Social Council and an external expert.
