Prize for the Best Doctoral Thesis on Planetary Wellbeing

In order to promote the performance of activities to increase the research within the framework of the Planetary Wellbeing project, the Prize for the Best Doctoral Thesis has been published.

Theses must contribute: on the one hand, to the knowledge and understanding of the set of problems facing human, animal and planetary wellbeing, as a global ecosystem; and, on the other hand, to the identification of integrated, innovative and interdisciplinary solutions to these problems.

Doctoral students at UPF who have submitted their doctoral thesis  are eligible for entering the competition.

In this regard, any contributions towards the development of new knowledge in one of the following areas are examples related with Planetary Wellbeing:

  • Co-benefits for health and the environment
  • Integration of environmental protection in health issues
  • Climate change and clean energy
  • Food production and healthy diets with low environmental impact
  • Integrated solutions for land use
  • Urban studies
  • Global governance
  • Global inequalities
  • Sustainable development
  • Poverty
  • Aging
  • Global education - global health
  • Animal, human and social welfare
