Research scientist at the CSIC Institute of Optics in Madrid, his interests lie in the development of new models of vision. He has written books on image processing and visual perception models for cinema. He has coordinated several European research projects focused on the audiovisual industry, collaborates regularly with NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) and has recently obtained a project from the BBVA Foundation to overcome the critical limitations of artificial neural networks based on vision science.
