After working in the nineties with sculpture, photography and video, Antoni Abad focused on the Internet, which is the raw material of his practice today. Since 2004, he developed the megafone.net project that used smartphones to empower marginalized groups in Europe and the Americas. The artist also created blind.wiki since 2015, a smartphone app for visually impaired participants to share accessibility and sensory experiences of their cities.

Antoni Abad present blind.wiki, a community-based smartphone project that invites visually impaired citizens to share their own experience on the difficulties and facilities they find in their lives. As a sensorial and locative map of the unseen blind.wiki holds not only information on barriers, but also a repository for storytelling posts, building a location-specific overview of the cityscape as experienced by people with vision loss, in order to produce a collaborative and creative cartography of the unseen.
