Synopsis

With a frenetic editing style and using images created with the use of artificial intelligence tools, such as Midjourney and Runway, the film Morbo proposes a journey through the streets of a large city where the dualities of urban life are explicitly amplified. By merging mundane everyday scenes with moments of raw violence and effusive celebration, the film challenges perceptions and invites reflection on the complexity of the rage of emotions a human being goes through during a normal day. Where does the celebration end and the chaos begin? What defines the line between love and hate, life and death? The nauseating scenes invites the audience to confront these questions, to look at the fragility of social order and the intensity of human emotions. The original soundtrack, filled with urban elements, dialogues with the images reflecting the world we inhabit, our daily choices as ordinary people, and how they unfold in protagonizing tragedies and individual triumphs. In a world increasingly marked by polarization and violence, the film is a visual ode to the resilience of the human soul and the ability to find beauty even in the darkest situations. The film reflects on what it truly means to be human in a world where wars and conflicts are widely shared on social media and reduced to likes.
