A Spanish version of Japanese Philosophy. A Sourcebook (Heisig, James, John Maraldo y Thomas Kasulis eds., Hawai'i University Press, 2011) has been released by Herder publishing house under the title La filosofía japonesa en sus textos. Its 1352 pages put together a selection of excerpts from the the fundamental texts of the Japanese tradition of thought,from its origins (7th - 10th c.) until the 20th century, and also takes the step of presenting it as philosophy tout court.

The translation and edition work was financially supported by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (Mineco, grant nº FFI2012-36210) and the Nanzan Institute for Religion and Culture (Nagoya, Japan). The chief editors, James W. Heisig and Raquel Bouso, have directed a team of over 20 specialists from Spain and other Spanish speaking countries.
