REGISTRATIONS CLOSE FOR JESSUP 2025 MAY 14!

Pompeu Fabra University is looking for students to form the new team that represents it in the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, the most prestigious legal simulation in the world and in which the UPF has been participating consecutively for 5 years, obtaining successful results in all of them at national and international level, crowning herself as national champion in the 2022 edition.

Why should I participate? Participation in the moot offers the possibility of developing legal research and analysis skills as well as the possibility of improving oratory and legal discourse.

In addition to learning and experience, participating in this activity validates the TFG or the TFM (Master's thesis, only in the case of the university master's in law of the UPF-BSM) and is a great opportunity to add a differentiating factor on the CV, resulting in a great attraction for large national and international law firms.

The competition is held entirely in English and this year it is expected to be held in person in Barcelona. The team's coach is Melissa Bell Romero.
2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th year law students (Double Degree) and Masters can participate.
This year the competition will deal with:
1. the rights and obligations of other members of the international community when two people claim to be the legitimate president of a state;
2. invocation of immunity for government officials accused of serious human rights violations;
3. the legal consequences of the retreat of the coasts for the maritime zones of the coastal states; i
4. the interpretation of the arbitration clause in a treaty that creates a regional organization.

To register, students must send an email to [email protected] by TUESDAY MAY 14, attaching an updated CV, in English; a letter of motivation, in English; the academic record; and accreditation of B2 level of English or higher, if available,
