About this Master

Why choose this program?

Above and beyond the sheer size of the industry, film and audiovisual media are one of the most important and defining components of contemporary culture.

The master's programme in Contemporary Film and Audiovisual Studies aims to help students acquire the solid, critically proven knowledge and skills they need to begin to conduct research in the field of film studies with an emphasis on contemporary audiovisuals. To this end, it encourages students to look to tradition to interpret the current audiovisual panorama with a view to fostering a key skill that will enable them to formulate working hypotheses on the present and future of today's audiovisuals.

The programme is moreover designed to provide students with the training they need to go on to write a doctoral thesis.
