The coordination team of the Official Master's Degree in Contemporary Cinema and Audiovisual Studies recommends to take the master's degree in two years. We suggest to take the subjects within the first year (40 credits) and to do the Master’s Final Project within the following one. Only if the student has a complete dedication to studying and is certain about which specific research area to take from the beginning will it be possible to take the master's degree in one year.
Students will only have to pay for the subjects they enroll for that year. Therefore, those who leave the MFP or other subjects for the second year will be able to pay for its credits on the second year.
During the master's degree program, students must enroll for three compulsory subjects and for the Master’s Final Project. In the first year, it is recommended to take the two methodological subjects A Critical History of Film and Audiovisual Methodology I and II. It is not compulsory to follow any itinerary for optional subjects. It is suggested to take the subjects that are most closely related to the student's final project.
There is no second examination period for the subjects. Failed or non-attended subjects will have to be enrolled for again (and paid with a surcharge) the following year.
We remind students that they must attend at least 80% of the lectures, for all subjects are on-site. Lecturers cannot evaluate students if they do not attend to their lessons.

In the tutorial form students will be asked for the name of three professors (written in order of priority) considered to be the most suitable for receiving tutoring from during the development of the student's research. The coordination team of the master's degree will do everything that is possible for students to have one of these three professors appointed as tutor. In order to know who could be the most suitable supervisors it is recommended to check the programs of the subjects and the professors’ CV’s.
