Biography note

Albert Elduque holds a PhD in Communication from the Pompeu Fabra University with the thesis "Del hambre al vómito: Imágenes del consumo en el cine moderno" (2014), where the concepts of hunger, consumption and vomit in European and Brazilian new waves are analyzed. He has later been a Postdoctoral Researcher in Brazilian Cinema at the University of Reading (2016-2019), where he has been part of the project “Towards an Intermedial History of Brazilian Cinema: Exploring Intermediality as a Historiographic Method” (Intermldia) analyzing the representation of Brazilian musical traditions in contemporary cinema. His work focuses on the intersections between political cinema and music documentary in Europe and Latin America. He has written papers and book chapters on filmmakers such as Pier Paolo Pasolini, Júlio Bressane, Joaquim Pedro de Andrade, Werner Herzog, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Jorge Silva and Marta Rodríguez. He is editor of the journal "Comparative Cinema".
