Biography note

Tenured lecturer of Audiovisual Communication at Pompeu Fabra University, where she currently coordinates the master's degree programme in Contemporary Film and Audiovisual Studies.
She was a film critic for the newspaper Avui from 1990 to 1995. From 1994 to 1997 she was responsible, alongside Xavier Perez, for "Quadern de Cinema" (Carles Durán Film Criticism Award), a weekly section of the same publication. She has also worked with Xavier Perez to write the books Cent anys d'espectacle . Història del cinema (Ed. Graó, 1995) and El tiempo del héroe. Épica y masculinidad en el cine de Hollywood (Paidós, 2000).
Individually, she has coordinated the book El plaer del cinema per Joan Lorente-Costa (1990) and is the author of La mirada en el temps . Mite i passió in Hollywood cinema (Ed. 62, 1996, Josep Vallverdú Essay Award), translated into Italian by the publisher Editori Riuniti, as well as of Plano/Contraplano . De la mirada clásica al universo de Michelangelo Antonioni (Ed. Biblioteca Nueva, 2002). Her most recent book is entitled Deesses i tombes. Mites femenins en el cinema de Hollywood (Ed. Proa, 2004, Carles Rahola Award) and has been translated into Spanish by the publisher Icaria Editorial. She has contributed to several books on the subject of actors, including Les dives: mites i celebritats (Ed. 3 i 4, 2007), and to others about desire, specifically Políticas del deseo. Literatura y cine (Ed. Icaria, 2007) and Las metamorfosis del deseo (UOC, 2010).
Principal investigator of the project of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness "The erotic body of the actress in fascism regimes: Spain, Italy and Germany (1393-1945) during the period 2014-2016.
