Preamble

The EDvolution educational framework aims to improve the learning of our students, generating deeper, more lasting, effective and socially engaged learning. In order to contribute to the 2030 global education agenda, university curricula must incorporate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into different areas of knowledge and investigate which are the most effective learning methods so that students acquire the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes that allow them to contribute to sustainable development.
It is necessary to explore new learning models that move away from teaching by unidirectional, disciplinary and exclusively cognitive transmission. More participatory, collaborative and reflective environments such as those offered by Problem-Based Learning (PBL) or Project-Oriented Learning (AOP) are required.

The implementation of EDvolutició in the curricula of the subjects highlights the important role of active learning methodologies and common competences of global citizenship. At the same time, institutional research EDvolutició, within the framework of the UPF Learning Lab, also aims to contribute to the generation of knowledge that will help to improve teaching and learning.

Aim

The aim of this initiative is to articulate the participation of UPF professors in EDvolutió’s institutional research, in order to design and evaluate teaching materials inspired on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Project-Based Learning (PBL). The participation of the community will help to address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in university’s teaching and to generate a network of professors who work collaboratively for this purpose. The materials may be new or adaptations of materials available in the following online community. The approach may have the scope of one or more subjects within the framework of one or more disciplines.
