New article by McNally and Spalek
Louise McNally and former DTCL member Alexandra Spalek (U. Oslo) have just published The anatomy of a verb: Tear, rasgar, and lexical equivalence in Languages in Contrast. This paper is the second installment in their research into how cross-linguistic variation in patterns of figurative uses of verbs can shed light both on debates about the relation between so-called ``root'' and grammatical content, as well as on the challenges of establishing lexical equivalences for verbs -- be it for purposes of translation, or for cross-linguistic comparison and the creation of lexical resources.
