Professor of Criminal Law and Criminology at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona). She has been Fulbright scholar at the University of Santa Barbara, California, Alexander von Humboldt scholar at the University of Frankfurt and Visiting Fellow at the All Souls College, University of Oxford (2013-14). She is also former President of the European Society of Criminology (2007-2010). She is founding member of the Criminology and Criminal Justice System Research Group. She is currently the Head of the Department of Law in the UPF (2016-). Her research interests are prison systems, criminal records, community sentences, and gender analysis of criminal justice system.
