The Biomedical Engineer’s Pledge 1.0. 
We are glad to announce that we have uploaded to Zenodo a manuscript 👇👇 explaining why and how the “Biomedical Engineer’s Pledge” (https://www.upf.edu/web/biomedical-engineers-pledge) was created. More importantly, the manuscript thoroughly argues and explains the wording of the pledge and the promises it contains.

The “Biomedical Engineer’s Pledge” has been conceived aiming at strengthening the ethical awareness of future biomedical engineers. It consists of a preamble sentence, ten promises, and a concluding sentence. Top priority is given to the first promise, which combines the fundamental principles of beneficence and non-maleficence.

It is intended that commitment to the “Biomedical Engineer’s Pledge”, by reading it aloud, will be carried out in public events at universities. First of such event was held on Saturday, July the 8th, at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. Check the complete press release here.
