The team of the Faculty of Law of Pompeu Fabra University that has participated in the recognized competition of international commercial arbitration and commercial law (the "Moot Madrid"), organized by the Universidad Carlos III and UNCITRAL, has obtained several awards . 37 different universities (13 Spanish and 24 foreign) have participated in this edition.

The students who have represented Pompeu Fabra University are Néstor Peña, Guillem Ulier, Guillem Gómez, Víctor Vecino, Jordi Cerdá, Alba Sánchez-Reyes and Floriane Sement. The University has won the first prize for the best written answer to the demand and an honorable mention for the award for the best written demand. The writs of demand and answer prepared by the participating teams are evaluated by five different referees. The writings with the highest score are sent to a quality commission - made up of different specialized professors and other professionals of recognized prestige in the subject -, which chooses the winning writings. Both letters of demand and answer presented by the team of Pompeu Fabra University have been recognized by this commission of evaluative quality.

Due to the exceptional situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the oral rounds, which were to take place from 20 to 24 April 2020 in Madrid, could not be held in person, but took place in virtual. However, and given the difficulties this posed for the preparation of the team and always ensuring the health of its members, the University decided, following the criteria of many other universities, to participate only in the written phase.
