We are once again repeating the success of attendance and participation at Jornades de les Professions Jurídiques

On the 13th, 14th, 15th and 17th of May, the Faculty of Law organized the Legal Professions Days, with a successful attendance and participation of the students that shows their interest in the training actions aimed at their professional future.

We have one session left; that of May 28: "DAY V: Networking with law firms and companies" The first session took place on May 13 at 12:30 p.m. in the Albert Calsamiglia Degree Room (Campus de la Ciutadella) and was dedicated in "The regional and local public function". More than 65 students from the Law degree, the double degree LAW / ECO-Ade, master's and doctorate attended. The speakers who took part were: Gemma Capdevila, Head of the Office of the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia; Aranzazu Colom, Director General of Consultative Services and Legal Coordination of the Legal Office of the Generalitat of Catalonia and lawyer of the body; and Sergi Ribas, General Secretary of Mataró City Council.

The session was moderated by Dra. Clara Velasco Rico, vice president of the Commission for Guaranteeing the Right of Access to Public Information and associate professor Serra Húnter of UPF Administrative Law.

“DAY I: The regional and local civil service"

The second session took place on May 14 at 12.30pm in the Àgora Jordi Rubió i Balaguer Auditorium (Campus de la Ciutadella). In this case more than 130 attendees, also from the degree in Law, double degree LAW/ECO-Ade, master's and doctorate, attended the Conference dedicated to "The national and international public service". The speakers of the day were: Oriol Forner, State Attorney and UPF alumni; Montserrat Raga, Administrative Litigation Magistrate, Javier Parrondo, Diplomat, Director of Casa Asia; Patricia Cabanilla, Tax Inspector and UPF alumni;   and Adauca Aparicio, property registrar and associate professor at the UPF.

The session was moderated by Dr. Albert Font, prof. Holder of Private International Law at the UPF.

"DAY II: The national and international civil service"

The third session took place on May 15 at 12.30pm in the Àgora Jordi Rubió i Balaguer Auditorium (Campus de la Ciutadella). In this case, more than 162 attendees attended the Conference dedicated to "Law in office and business". All the speakers highlighted the profile and values expected of a good legal professional. Speakers: Oriol Valentí, Lawyer and partner of the Roca Junyent law firm, alumni and prof. associate UPF; Andrés Maluenda, criminal lawyer with own law firm (Maluenda penal) and UPF alumni, Alexander Salvador, lawyer, president of the Barcelona ICAB Young Lawyers Group (GAJ) and UPF alumni; Almudena Carneros, Lawyer, Legal Director of the NTT Data Technology Services Company and prof. associate UPF; and José Alberto Navarro Manich, partner of the Uría Menéndez Law Firm and member of its Foundation.

The session was moderated by Dr. Carlos Gómez Ligüerre, prof. Holder of Civil Law and Head of Law Studies at the UPF.

"DAY III: Law office and company"

And the last session of the week took place on May 17 at 12.30 pm in classroom 40.250 (Campus de la Ciutadella). More than 125 students attended. On this occasion, the day was dedicated to informing the students about "What the offices and companies are looking for". The speakers who took part were: Glòria Ruiz from the Human Resources Department of the Cuatrecasas office and Joan Braun, Cuatrecasas lawyer and UPF alumni The session was presented by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Anna Caballé.

After the speeches of the speakers, the four sessions opened a lively debate with the participation of the students. We were able to note that students from other UPF studies besides the Faculty of Law have also attended.

"DAY IV: ​What offices and companies are looking for"

The last session: "Day V: Networking with law firms and companies" will be next Tuesday, May 28 at 1:00 p.m. in the Roger de Llúria Courtyard (networking space) and Room 40.006 (elevator pitch) at the Ciutadella Campus .
