Angela Y. Davis, a human rights activist and professor emeritus at the University of California at Santa Cruz, was awarded an honorary doctorate by UPF on March 9. The ceremony was followed live by more than 500 people.

The ceremony was presided over by Jaume Casals, Rector of UPF. Angela Davis’s godmother was Elena Larrauri, Professor of Criminology, and the praise was given by Tania Verge and Linda G. Jones, professors of the Departments of Political and Social Sciences and Humanities.
