Keynote at Vectors Apr 2024

On April 18, Núria Almiron was the opening keynote speaker at the Critical Animal Studies section of the Vectors Conference.

Her talk, "Animal Suffering and Public Relations," summarized the ideas in the chapters of Animal Suffering and Public Relations (Routledge, 2024), which she edited and co-authored, by explaining why the animal-industrial complex's public relations are mostly manipulative and in some cases even propagandistic in nature.

Vectors was hosted by the Moscow School of the Social and Economic Sciences –also known as Shaninka in honor of its founder, the sociologist, and pioneer of contemporary peasant studies, Teodor Shanin–.
