The third edition of Campus Miró celebrates the cinema of Pere Portabella.

From 4 to 7 May, the Fundació Joan Miró will host a new edition of Campus Miró, which this year forms part of the 50th anniversary of the Fundació Joan Miró and the celebration of the centenary of Pere Portabella.
Under the title Portabella Sequences, over four days the museum will be transformed into a space for research, experimentation and critical thought. Each day is conceived as a “sequence”, thus establishing a transversal dialogue between the creative universes of Portabella and Miró:
- Sequence I: Crossed Politics – A reflection on the role of art and institutions in political denunciation, drawing on archives, cinema and historical memory.
- Sequence II: Artistic Vampirisations – An exploration of appropriation, reinterpretation and the remake as contemporary creative practices.
- Sequence III: Testimony and Destruction – A look at ephemeral work, documentation and destruction as an artistic gesture.
- Sequence IV: Institutional Subversions – A questioning of the museum and its forms, from emptiness, curatorship and feminist practices.
Each “sequence” is structured around visits, workshops, screenings and discussions, with the screening of a Portabella film as the organising axis of each day.
Campus Miró 2026 is aimed at students, artists, researchers and professionals in the cultural sector, as well as audiences interested in contemporary art and critical thought.
Participants will include: Pedro Larrègle (archivist at the Fundació Miró), Dolors Rodríguez Roig (curator and exhibitions coordinator), Magda Oranich (lawyer), Montse Puig Antich (sister of Salvador Puig Antich), Jordi Vidal (assistant director to Pere Portabella), Teresa Montaner (Head of Collections at the Fundació Miró), Pablo Cavero (cultural critic and UPF alumnus), Marc Esquirol (filmmaker), Toni Esparó (paper conservator at the Fundació Miró), Carlos Baixauli (filmmaker), Sara Torres and Èliga Bagó (curators and exhibition designers), and Pilar Monsell (filmmaker and lecturer on the MA in Contemporary Film and Audiovisual Studies).
