This meeting, organised by Grup CINEMA's MuMOVEP project, will address the complexity of Aby Warburg's thought through a dialogue on the relevance, value and legacy of Warburg's methodological proposal. The analysis will be carried out within an interpretative framework that relates the ideas of various authors, including Gertrud Bing, Salvatore Settis and Kurt Foster, among others. Thus, Warburg's Atlas Mnemosyne will be the driving force to reflect on the methodological approach proposed by the MuMOVEP project in the study of visual motifs in the public sphere, and an exploration of the potentials of montage and the interconnections of large collections of images to understand the crucial role of the visual in the production, critique and transformation of the present.

The session is validated as hours of training activities for students on the PhD programme in Communication at Pompeu Fabra University. Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.
