Liis Nimik, Professor and researcher at the University of Tallin, new visiting researcher at the CINEMA Research Group
Liis Nimik, Professor and researcher at the University of Tallinn, is doing a predoctoral research stay in the Department of Communication from 02/01/24 to 30/06/24 within the framework of the CINEMA research group.
Liis Nimik is a documentary filmmaker, fiction editor and speaker. She graduated from Baltic Film and Media School - BA in Film Art in 2012 as an editor and in 2015 as a documentary filmmaker. She has edited 4 feature films, produced documentaries, all of them distributed internationally. Her first documentary feature film Sundial was released in Visions du Réel and HotDocs in 2023. She is currently working as a junior researcher at the University of Tallinn, investigating the relationship between chance and film editing.
