The CAC organizes, on an annual basis, the CAC Awards (Consell de l’Audiovisual de Catalunya) for research on audiovisual communication. The endowment is 5,000 euros gross for the first prize and 2,000 euros gross for the second award. It presents research related to the field of audiovisual communication that stands out for its contributions and its methodological rigor.

In this year's edition, the first prize was for Ariadna Moreno, a doctor from Pompeu Fabra University, for her doctoral thesis developed within the CINEMA group: “La forma-ritual del cine de Chantal Akerman: hacia un espectador encarnado”. The thesis was directed by Dr. Gonzalo de Lucas and qualified with a Cum Laude on February 13. Moreno’s research revolves around the figure of Chantal Akerman and her work from an aesthetic perspective, with references such as Deleuze, Maya Deren or Jean Rouch. The research has also received the first honorable mention in the awards of the Royal Academy of Doctors of Spain within the category of Arts and Humanities.
