On July 20th, the ARSENAL space hosted a meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Chair of Futures in Communication with the aim of defining the thematic agenda for the Crosspoint Meeting: Echoes of the Future. This event, organized by the Chair, will bring together the leading European institutions dedicated to foresight in communication.

The Crosspoint Meeting: Echoes of the Future will take place on November 23rd and 24th at the Poblenou Campus of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Its purpose is to contribute to shaping the future of the communication sector in Europe and to establish synergies among the various European institutions to identify shared future lines and projects.

To address this European gathering and define the relevant thematic areas, the Advisory Committee of the Chair of Futures in Communication has been established. This committee, composed of experts with extensive experience in the field of communication, both academically and professionally, convened with the objective of identifying the key future trends in the communication sector, which will shape the thematic agenda of the Crosspoint Meeting: Echoes of the Future.

As a result of this meeting, thirteen fundamental thematic lines were identified, which will serve as the foundation for structuring the Crosspoint Meeting: Echoes of the Future. Furthermore, these initial conclusions provide insights into the future of communication for the businesses and institutions that make up the Catalan communication ecosystem. Some of these lines highlight the role of acceleration in the adoption and social acceptance of technological and creative innovations, the importance of trust in the new communication environment, technological dependence on other countries or tool producers, and its impact on business models, as well as the emergence of conversational interfaces and their influence on interaction with communicative content, among other aspects.

The Crosspoint Meeting: Echoes of the Future, organized by the Chair of Futures in Communication, will offer the opportunity to share these future forecasts with the European community and collaborate towards a successful future in the European, national, and Catalan communication ecosystem
