TIDE showcases the CACAO platform in the project final conference

The Cell Biology and Art Class Omnibus project (CACAO), a pioneering initiative blending science and art education, has concluded its journey with a final conference held in the city of Pula. The conference, organized by partners from the Juraj Drobila University of Pula, served as a platform for project members who shared their achievements with future kindergarten educators.

Last November 8th, the University of Pula organized the CACAO International Conference. The conference drew a diverse audience (educators, researchers and families) from Croatia and Slovenia.

Ivona Peternel, General Project Manager of the project, opened the event introducing the attendees an overview of the 2-year project. The scientific aspect of the project was presented by Branka Bernard, Marlena Plavšić, and Inés Kovačič, who provided insights into the implementation and scientific evaluation of the project curriculum. Adding a touch of dynamism to the conference, Hans van Regenmortel and Alberto Massimo shared two engaging talks on the significance of music in child education, underscoring the project's commitment to holistic development.

Representing the TIDE research group, Dr. Roberto Sánchez Reina took the stage to present his talk "Designing Learning Platforms," shedding light on the TIDE's research group contributions to the CACAO project. Adding a delightful touch to the event, a group of children from a local kindergarten took the stage, serenading the audience with CACAO songs under the guidance of Dr. Ivana Paula Gortan Carlin. The closure of the conference featured a toss organized by colleagues of Pula University, bringing a fitting end to the CACAO project.

As the curtain of the CACAO project falls, the outcomes remain imprinted on the intersection of science and art in education. We invite you to read the executive summary of the project prepared by Fabula Movens. CLICK HERE.

The CACAO Project (Cell Biology and Art Class Omnibus) is an ERASMUS+ K2 project (KA220-SCH-FBB8AA01) with a two-year duration. It is led by five European schools and universities (UniPula, Musica Impulse, Fabula Movens, and Pompeu Fabra). The TIDE research groups contribute to the CACAO project by supporting the design and creation of the educational platform CACAO.
