Víctor Casamayor Pujol

Since January 2025, I have held a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in the Engineering Department at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF).

My current research interests lie at the intersection of Internet-based distributed systems, such as Cloud Computing, Edge Computing, and the Computing Continuum, and autonomous, adaptive systems. In this context, I explore adaptive methodologies applicable to these environments. Additionally, given my academic background, I maintain active interests in robotics, AI technologies, and satellite systems as emerging components of the Edge.

I am currently involved in teaching activities at UPF. I coordinate the Computer Organization course and also teach Discrete Mathematics and Operating Systems. Moreover, I supervise both Bachelor’s and Master’s students, and I am actively seeking motivated PhD candidates to join my research group.

Before joining UPF, I worked from 2021 as a postdoctoral researcher in the Distributed Systems Group at TU Vienna, where I contributed to research projects, proposal writing, and EU-funded initiatives. Prior to that, I completed my PhD at UPF, focusing on the development of navigation and mapping algorithms for robots using RFID antenna support.

Before starting my doctoral studies, I earned a degree in Aerospace Engineering from UPC and completed a Master’s in Space Systems Engineering in Toulouse. I subsequently worked as an aerospace engineer at CNES in Paris. Later, I pursued a Master’s in Interactive and Intelligent Systems at UPF, which eventually led to my PhD research.
