"Translating Cultural Values and Reader’s Engagement Social Media Marketing Campaigns"

From the intersection of fields like translation studies, cross-cultural communication, and international advertising, the project intends to develop a model of analysis to describe the role of translation/adaptation in international marketing campaigns run in social media (Facebook and Twitter). The languages involved are English, Spanish, Italian and Arabic. The specific goals are, in the first place, to understand the way in cultural values are conveyed and secondly, to describe the adjustments made to the construction of reader engagement.
