The first session in 2026 of the Valence Asymmetries seminar took place on 20 January, with an invited talk from  Dimitra Lazaridou-Chatzigoga (U. East Anglia) Striking generics: sharks attack people and glippets love to play with fire. Dimitra presented a series of fascinating studies, conducted in collaboration with Napoleon Katsos, Linnaea Stockall and Stavroula Alexandropoulou, that investigate how children, as well as certain neurodivergent populations, process generics. Her talk was received with great enthusiasm and gave rise to lively discussions.
