CAPDEVILA CASTELLS, POL

Pol Capdevila is an Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities at Pompeu Fabra University, where he teaches Art Theory, Contemporary Art, and Image Theory. He holds a degree in Philosophy and a PhD in Aesthetics and Art Theory from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). His current research focuses on the problem of time in contemporary art and visual culture, a subject on which he has published numerous articles, book chapters, and, most recently, the book Espectros del tiempo. Estética e historicidad en el arte contemporáneo (Gedisa). He teaches in the MECLAP (Master’s in Comparative Studies of Literature, Art, and Thought at UPF) and the MURAD (Master’s in Research in Art and Design at Eina). In addition to his academic career, he contributes as an art critic to contemporary art journals and is an active disseminator of philosophy and aesthetics.
