  • EGERA. Effective Gender Equality in Research and the Academia. With view to bring about sustainable and measurable cultural and organizational changes to promote gender equality, EGERA has secured the full support of the top management structures of its respective partner institutions. Fully-fledged Gender Equality Action Plans (GEAPs) will be implemented and continuously enhanced along this four-yearlong project by the seven implementing partners. GEAPs will articulate a structural understanding of gender inequalities and bias in research with a set of actions covering the most salient issues with respect to the recruitment, retention, appraisal and empowerment of women in research, and to the mainstreaming of gender knowledge across disciplinary fields. From 2014-01-01 to 2017-12-31, ongoing project.

  • FESTA. Female Empowerment in Science and Technology Academia. FESTA is concerned with implementing changes in the working environment of academic researchers, to encourage female researchers to stay and make a career in the academy and to create organizational environments where their competence is valued and fostered. In particular, we address the working environment of researchers in the lower levels of their careers, to make it possible for them to advance to the ranks of highest scientific expertise. From 2012-02-01 to 2017-01-31, ongoing project.

  • GARCIA. Gendering the Academy and Research: combating Career Instability and Asymmetries. GARCIA is concerned with the implementation of actions in European Universities and research centres to promote a gender culture and combat gender stereotypes and discriminations. By taking into account the organisations, but also their broader national context, this project aims to develop and maintain research potential and skills of both, women and men researchers, in order to sustain the quality of their working conditions. From 2014-02-01 to 2017-01-31, ongoing project.

  • GEDII. The impact of gender diversity on research productivity, quality and innovation is very unevenly evidenced. Incremental insights from gender studies, team science and research evaluation exercises do not transcend these separate areas and are therefore of restricted analytical value. This can be seen, for example, in the understanding of 'gender' as simply concerned with the numerical representation of the two sexes in most quantitative analyses. This not only factors out the gendered hierarchies and social processes that condition science in general and work group dynamics in particular, but severely hampers systematic comparisons of research performance impacts. Using innovative methods for the analysis of the diversity-research productivity relationship, Gedii will develop a reliable diversity measure that is sensitive to power, status and information sharing differentials within teams and across public & private organisations. From 2015-10-01 to 2018-09-30, ongoing project.

  • GENERA. Gender Equality Network in the European Research Area. With the main goal to address gender equality in Research & Innovation the proposing GENERA (Gender Equality Network in the European Research Area) consortium has been formed to apply a bottom-up approach to enhance gender equality in the field of physics research as a benchmark for other sciences. From 2015-09-01 to 2018-08-31, ongoing project.

  • GENDER-NET. Promoting gender equality in research institutions and the integration of the gender dimension in research contents. This project is a pilot transnational research policy initiative, designed to address the common challenges still facing European research institutions in achieving gender equality in research and innovation and thus help Member States and Associated countries join forces to achieve the European Research Area (ERA). From 2013-10-15 to 2016-10-14, ongoing project.

  • GENIS LAB. The Gender in Science and Technology LAB – GENIS LAB. The GENIS – LAB project aims to implement structural changes in a group of selected scientific organisations in order to overcome the factors that limit the participation of women in research. Our proposal is to create a synergy among scientific partners promoting common actions and best practices exchange in order to defeat gender discrimination, and technical partners providing and sharing innovative tools and methodologies for gender mainstreaming in science. From 2011-01-01 to 2014-12-31, closed project.

  • GENPORT. An internet portal for sharing knowledge and inspiring collaborative action on gender and science. Though the wealth of gender and science resources developed in Europe over the last decade offers enormous potential for knowledge sharing and informed, these resources are dispersed, and have varying degrees of visibility and usability. Globally, too, major gaps in the dissemination of past and present knowledge persist, while new knowledge is constantly being produced. This information needs to be offered in accessible, timely, value-added ways to enhance the potential for its exploitation. Our project creates an internet portal that fulfils this need. Based on extensive consultations with leaders in the field, we will develop an open entry-point to high-quality research, policy reports and practical resources on gender, science, technology and innovation. From 2013-05-15 to 2017-05-14, ongoing Project.

  • INTEGER. INstitutional Transformation for Effecting Gender Equality in Research. The INTEGER project brings together a balanced and complementary consortium of organisations which share a top level commitment to the implementation of sustainable transformational change to improve the career progression of women scientific researchers. The use of Transformational Gender Action Plans formed from established gender tools, tailored to individual organisations, fully and properly implemented down to the local level from senior management, and with measured outputs to promote, embed and mainstream gender equity within the participating organisations, will result in the desired outcome of improved career progression for women. From 2011-03-01 to 2015-06-30, closed project.

  • PLOTINA. Promoting gender balance and inclusion in research, innovation and training. The overall objective of PLOTINA is to enable the development, implementation and assessment of self-tailored Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) with innovative and sustainable strategies for the Research Performing Organizations (RPOs) involved. This objective will be achieved by: i) Stimulating a gender-aware culture change; ii) Promoting career-development of both female and male researchers to prevent the waste of talent, particularly for women; iii) Ensuring diversification of views and methodologies (in this case by taking into account the gender/sex dimension and analysis) in research and teaching. From 2016-02-01 to 2020-01-31, ongoing project.
