The driving idea behind this project is simple: understanding how different non-communicable diseases (NCDs) interact with each other is crucial for early prevention and personalized health management. We believe this can be achieved through advanced computational models (in silico models). O-Health aims to create a groundbreaking, scalable system that combines both disease-specific (vertical) and body-wide (transversal) models to help reduce the overall burden of NCDs. To achieve this, we will focus on four key objectives:

  • Objective 1 (SO1): Develop a framework for efficiently connecting and combining disease models, so we can better understand how different NCDs interact.

  • Objective 2 (SO2): Create an endothelial interface model that will allow for seamless communication between disease-specific models and body-wide simulations.

  • Objective 3 (SO3): Use large population data to guide the design of high-level models, ensuring that the O-Health system is accurate and reliable in real-world applications.
