Applications are invited for a part-time (25 hours/week) research assistant position to contribute to research projects in the MRG led by Salvador Soto-Faraco, at the Center for Brain and Cognition -- Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona).

Description: The job is to support our various research projects focused on the neural and cognitive bases of human perception, attention, and memory. The tasks include participant recruitment, software development (programming/adapting code to run experiments), building setups for experiments, data collection (psychophysical, EEG, eye tracking), support in data analysis, data curation, web maintenance, support in administrative and organizational tasks.

We seek highly motivated candidates with a background in cognitive/computational neuroscience or similar. Required: previous (demonstrable) experience with: (1) data acquisition in human cognitive or neuroimaging experiments, and (2) programming (Matlab, Python, and/or R). Valued/desirable (one or more of these): experience in EEG pre-processing and analysis, modelling, machine-learning, VR, brain computer interfaces, and/or eye tracking. Ideally, the candidate will apply for funding to carry out doctoral studies in one of the group’s research lines.

Conditions: The position is part-time (25 hours/week) and will be initially funded for 6 months (or until 31/08/2026, whichever comes first).  Starting date: 1/3/2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. Salary (gross before tax):  ~ 1.700 Eur. month. Remote working is not possible since the job requires laboratory work.

Eligibility: The candidate must be able to legally work in Spain. Good communication skills in English (both written and spoken). Basic communication skills in Spanish and/or Catalan (to be able to recruit and communicate with subjects).
