On May 5, 2025, the winners of the 6th edition of the Awards for Best Master's Theses and Best Doctoral Dissertations in East Asian Studies were announced. These awards are organized by the Spanish Association of East Asian Studies (EAO).
Gerard Puig, a student from the MAP (Master in Asia-Pacific Studies) program (Class of 2025), has won the award for Best Master's Thesis for his work: “The structure of East Asian philosophy in the work Consciousness and Essence (意識と本質) by the Japanese philosopher Izutsu Toshihiko (井筒俊彦, 1914-1993): Prolegomena for an intercultural philosophy?”, supervised by Professor Raquel Bouso (UPF). He is currently pursuing a PhD, also at UPF.
