Barcelona, 26 January 2026 – Researcher Aleix Martí Danés has participated in a report published by Público entitled “Pseudomedia, political ‘influencers’ and ‘bots’: the digital ecosystem driving Aliança Catalana”, which analyses the digital ecosystem that has emerged around this Catalan far-right political party.

The report examines how certain actors within the digital ecosystem — including pseudomedia outlets, political influencers and bots — contribute to amplifying political discourse and shaping public debate through social media platforms. In this context, Aleix Martí Danés provides the analytical perspective of the INPOLITYOUNG project, identifying the communicative dynamics that allow these actors to acquire an appearance of legitimacy and gain traction among young audiences.

Context of the INPOLITYOUNG Project

The INPOLITYOUNG project, based at the Department of Communication of Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), explores the intersections between influencers, youth and politics in the digital age, analysing how platforms and cognitive and algorithmic dynamics shape spaces of opinion formation and political mobilisation.

One of the core concerns of the project is the circulation of reactionary narratives through digital spaces and their capacity to occupy hegemonic positions within online political discourse.
