Introduction to the Arabic language and culture
This course consists of a 30-hour, in-person course taught over one term and aims to help participants acquire an initial knowledge of the Arabic language and culture (A1) in a dynamic environment, with a specific focus on the practical use of the language.
Multilingual profile
The Introduction to the Arabic Language and Culture (A1) course is part of the “Develop Your Multilingual Profile” programme, which allows you to experience, first-hand and with native-speaking teachers, up to six different languages throughout one academic year. For the 2026–2027 academic year, Japanese and Russian are offered in the first term (October–December), Turkish and Arabic in the second term (January–March), and Portuguese and Chinese in the third term (April–June). In addition, you can earn up to 12 ECTS credits (if you study 4 languages) throughout the academic year, which can be recognised towards the UPF Minor in Multilingualism.

3 credits RAC/course for UPF undergraduate students, in accordance with current regulations. Students can also earn 3 RAC credits per course towards the Minor in Multilingualism. |
| UPF certificate | Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a UPF certificate by email stating the CEFR level achieved. |
