I am Chair in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence  and Head of the TALN Group  and Large Scale Text Understanding Systems Lab at the Department of Information and Communication Technologies, Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

My main research interest is Computational Linguistics. I work in the areas of Text Summarization, Information Extraction and Semantic Analysis.

I was involved in  research and development  with the  GATE platform from the year 2000.

I am the creator of the SUMMA Summarization system.

I am the coordinator of the Horizon Europe iDEM project Innovative and Inclusive Democratic Spaces for Deliberation and Participation.

I was Principal Investigator of the SignON Horizon Europe project on Sign Language Translation.

I was the principal investigator of the projects Simplext and Able to Include which resulted in our multilingual text simplification technology.

Our Dr Inventor Text Mining Library for Scientific Documents is available for research purposes.
