Abstract

The use of the discourse of “gender ideology” by religious, conservative, and right-wing representations is not something new. However, in the last decade, this speech has gained prominence in the world by being used as a “political weapon” to create “moral panic” in society and reproduce and encourage hate speech, in addition to barring or removing rights. This seminar aims to discuss the use of mixed methods in identifying patterns of this discourse in politics. To do this, I use part of my doctoral research to present the methodology constructed to compare the use of this discourse in Brazil and Portugal.
