MEDRANO MOYA ,MIREIA
She graduated in Biology, specialization in Health Biology (2011), at the University of Barcelona (UB). She then obtained her Master’s degree in Neurosciences (2012) and her PhD in Biomedicine (2017, cum laude) at the same university, studying G protein-coupled receptors with a special focus on receptor heteromers as novel therapeutic targets.
As a postdoctoral researcher, she worked at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where she was involved in the study of the neuroanatomical distribution of the neuropeptide neuromedin U and its role in addiction and stress response.
Currently, she has a postdoctoral position at the Neurobiology of Behavior Research Group (GReNeC), at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). Her research project is focused on the characterization of the molecular modulation exerted by endocannabinoids during the different phases of cocaine addiction in mice.
