Phd in Medicine (Biosanitary Sciences) with postgraduate degrees in edition and biostatistics. During a decade, he has been the health pages' coordinator for the spanish newspaper El País, and editorial director at Ediciones Doyma / Elsevier, where he has written since 1999. During 11 years, he wrote the weekly column Escepticemia, a skeptical view on health and information, which remains at escepticemia.com, Intramed, the Antoni Esteve Foundation and the Diario de la Sanidad. He has authored more than a thousand articles on medicine and science in the general press, and has also published in The Lancet, BMJ, BMJ Open, The Information Professional, Health Gazette, Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, Panace @, Mètode and other scientific publications.
