The Permanent Seminar of the UPF Center for Vattimo’s Philosophy and Archives meets once a month to discuss the origins, meaning, and consequences of the Italian philosopher’s thought. Invited researchers from around the world and members of the Center address different aspects of Vattimo’s philosophy with the aim of fostering enriching debate. Although the seminar focuses primarily on Vattimo’s weak thought, the sessions are also open to dialogue with other philosophies, thinkers, and issues. Over the years, several seminars have been devoted to Vattimo’s aesthetics, his interpretation of religion, his dialogue with Jacques Rancière and, more recently, to Alice Rohrwacher’s weak cinema and Ignasi de Solà-Morales’s weak architecture. At least one seminar each year is devoted to the study of unpublished materials preserved in the Archives. The seminar is organized by the Center’s team and is open to anyone interested in the Italian thinker and continental philosophy.
