I am currently Associate Professor at the Intelligent Multimodal Vision Analysis (IMVA) group, within the Department of Engineering. My research activity is focused on facial analysis applications with statistical, vision and machine learning techniques.

I obtained the degree in electrical engineering from La Plata National University, Argentina, in 2000, and the PhD degree in biomedical engineering from Zaragoza University, Spain, in 2008, after which I joined UPF. In 2011 I took a joint appointment at Dublin City University and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, where I obtained a Marie Curie postdoctoral grant (2012). In 2014 I returned to UPF and obtained a Ramon & Cajal fellowship in 2015. Since 2024 I am head of the Department of Engineering.
