Women's role change has been a major source of flux in family life. The ERC funded "FamPol" project aims to understand how adaptation to this influences not only family demographic dynamics but also social inequalities Using longitudinal micro panels, we address three interwoven themes. One, identifying shifts towards more gender symmetric family relations, with particular focus on the endogenously driven dynamics that drive populations towards a new and stable equilibrium. Two, analyzing the potentially polarizing demographic correlates of family change in terms of partnering, fertility, and couple stability. Three, analyzing potentially polarizing trends with respect to parenting inputs and how these, in turn, influence children's life chances.
