Abstract - "What AI can do for Football, and What Football can do for AI"
The rapid progress in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning has opened unprecedented analytics possibilities in various team and individual sports, including baseball, basketball, and tennis. In this talk we will review three papers which address different problems in the space of AI for sports, specifically when applied to football. First, we will do a broad review of the topic and describe the main challenges. Second, we will discuss how off-screen players can be predicted and how this can be used. Finally, we will introduce TacticAI, an AI assistant for football tactics.
