On November 27 and 28, we were able to enjoy the ninth edition of EEconAES at the Mercè Rodoreda building. These editions of the “Asociación Economía de la Salud” are aimed at fostering a culture of economic evaluation in the healthcare sector, bringing together professionals from different fields who work in this area.

The main topic on Thursday was an introduction to OpenMarkov, a free software program that, through a Java application, helps simplify many calculations. It allows users to intuitively draw Markov chains and perform conditional probability calculations that would be much more complicated to compute with decision trees.

On Friday, various articles related to economic evaluation were discussed, expanding the knowledge base of the participants and opening a debate to improve research methodologies in the articles themselves.

Overall, a successfully completed edition that was highly useful for all attendees.
