GRÉGORI MÉNDEZ, RUTH
Ruth Grégori holds a degree in Psychology from the Central American University and a Master's degree in Central American Cultural and Literary Studies from the University of El Salvador. In 2020, she moved to Barcelona to study a Master's degree in Creative Documentary and subsequently a Postgraduate degree in Audiovisual Editing and Video Editing, both at Pompeu Fabra University - Barcelona School of Management. In 2023, she began her PhD in Communication at Pompeu Fabra University, where she currently works as a predoctoral research staff in training in the Department of Communication. Her thesis in Psychology explored the attitudes of relatives of missing persons toward the Peace Accords that ended the Salvadoran civil war. Her master's thesis compared a play and a collection of poems based on the metaphor of water as a discourse by authors who are representative of postwar generations in El Salvador and Nicaragua. Through the various programs completed in Barcelona, she has developed different stages of a project that culminates in her doctoral research, which has an applied nature: an exploration of the possibilities of film editing and re-editing in an immersive-interactive film essay to revive collective reflection and memory about the history of war and the post-war period in El Salvador.
