Abstract
This volume examines the work of Joaquim Jordà, one of the key figures in heterodox and combative Spanish cinema, and offers a comprehensive reading of his career, which includes documentaries and fiction films, militant cinema, unfinished projects, television work, translation, and teaching, as well as his activity as a cultural and political agitator. Featuring contributions from 17 international researchers, the book proposes an original approach drawing on film analysis, philosophy, and cultural and comparative studies, and situates Jordà within both Spanish and European cinema contexts, while highlighting his legacy as an auteur and educator. A key figure for understanding the relationships between cinema, politics, and culture in Europe, Jordà connects film history with the major ideological and aesthetic movements of his time, consolidating a practice marked by a critical gaze and disciplinary breadth.
