DE-CIX, a leading and global company in the segment of Internet traffic exchange (IX), offering a plethora of services (interconnection, virtualization, IP services, security, etc.) worldwide, and the UPF agreed to set up this new collaboration tool as a joint Chair devoted to the creation of content and training programs to feed the Internet Traffic Exchange (IX) Academy. The IX Academy has a twofold objective: first to standardize the body of knowledge linked to the IX-business, covering technical and non-technical issues, defining a set of education activities in that area; and create a certification of achievements to globally recognise a set of levels (basic/intermediate/advanced) on that training program.

The Chair is linked to the NeTS Research Group, led by Prof. Miquel Oliver that will coordinate the tasks around the IX Academy.
